The following is a collection of articles I wrote for Boston University's JO210 Reporting in Depth, a course which assigns students to write for a local news outlet. Assignments were pitched to and written for the Brookline Tab, a local newspaper serving Brookline, Massachusetts.

BROOKLINE SELECT BOARD APPROVES NEW TOWN COUNSEL APPOINTMENT

March, 2022

BROOKLINE –Joseph Callanan, Weymouth’s town solicitor, received unanimous approval for his appointment to the town counsel of Brookline at the Brookline Select Board Meeting on March 1st.

BROOKLINE FOR UKRAINE ENTERPRISE PIECE

April, 2022

BROOKLINE — Moved by Russia’s sudden invasion of Ukraine, local painter and nurse practitioner Zoe Paschkis painted a bedroom scene using the colors of the Ukrainian flag to artistically combat her feelings of helplessness regarding the conflict. Six weeks later, through various fundraisers held in Brookline, Paschkis had generated over $5000 for medical supplies, protective equipment, and humanitarian relief.

May, 2022

BROOKLINE – When the Brookline Department of Public Works and the Solid Waste Advisory Committee created a Zero Waste Framework, drafting a plan to reduce waste in Brookline, it became clear that a specific position was needed to carry out the framework. That person would be Katie Weatherseed, a Newton resident who began the position in March.
